Individuals detained without trial merit remuneration: Hasina
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has said the
victims of imprisonment without trial can demand compensation from the
authorities responsible, and even from the state as well.
She said this while answering to a question by Jatiya Party member Nurul Islam Omar in parliament on Wednesday.
Sheikh Hasina said the government has taken effective measures to complete speedy trial of the crime suspects so that they don’t have to stay in prison for long time without trial.
“Steps have been taken to free them from jail through government legal service providers and some NGOs. This is a continual process,” she added.
